We made our first ladies blouse over a decade ago and today offer a fantastic selection of black blouses to cater for all occasions from our traditional tailored shirts along with ruffled and tulip collar blouses.

New materials meets traditional tailoring

Our black blouses are designed for a modern lifestyle and as a result the composition includes a small amount of elastane offering stretch in just the right places to make the blouse exceptionally comfortable to wear. The remaining fabric is woven using the finest Egyptian and US Pima long staple cotton which is not only softer than normal cotton but is also stronger and lasts longer.

We use black sustainably sourced corozo buttons that are made in England by British button maker Courtney and Co. The quality is not just reserved on the outside but also inside the collar and cuffs where we use a grey sewn in interfacing sourced from DHJ in France. This soft 100% cotton interfacing again is used to ensure longevity of each blouse. Cheaper shirts and blouses will use a fusible interfacing where it is glued to the cloth. Unfortunately this is an inferior finish as the glue will overtime degrade and you will see a unsightly bubbling effect.

Every blouse is hand cut and made at our Suffolk factory in England using traditional British tailoring. All the shirts are hand sewn using single needle machine stitching which takes longer to produce but yields a superior finish. Our ladies shirt block has been developed over the last decade and offers women a nice silhouette and fit. Features include a traditional split yoke and two feminine darts in the back.
