We have written this blog to help give our customers guidance on when and how to make the most out of our stylish new arrivals linen shirts along with it's history as a leading cloth and the quality materials and the best of British manufacturing that goes within each handmade shirt.
History
Linen is one of the oldest textiles within the world dating back over 30,000 years and was a popular choice among ancient civilisations like the Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt.
The best fabric is made using fibres from the flax plant which results in a very strong and absorbent cloth and dries much faster than cotton.
As a result it should come as no surprise that it is the ideal choice in hot climates and an essential item if you’re planning to go on a beach holiday among other things.
The Finest Linen
Our new men light linen shirts are sourced from coveted Turkish mill Soktas and we offer them to our discerning customers in two distinct weights; medium and light.
Our medium weight men linen shirts are a little heavier and slightly coarser making them ideal for a good British or Mediterranean summer .
Our light weight men summer linen shirts which include the striped options are extremely comfortable to wear but are better suited to a hotter climate – 25 degrees plus. The perfect choice if your jet setting to the Caribbean for winter among other things but take note that if the temperature drops significantly during the evening take a jacket or jumper as you may start feeling a little chilly.
A Statement Linen Shirt with the best British Buttons and Contrasting Prints
Along with first class linen fabric we finish our men's linen shirts with environmentally friendly and sustainable new arrivals brown Corozo button from British button maker Courtney and co.
As always we turn to Liberty London for contrasting prints inside the collar stand and cuff. For customers

Proudly Made in England
Like all our British made clothing our new men linen shirt collection is made in England at our Suffolk factory by experienced tailors and seamstresses. All the shirts are single needle stitched from start to finish and we can guarantee that the quality will be equal if not better than any shirt you would purchase from Savile Row or Jermyn Street.
When to wear linen shirts?
During the day
If you’re wearing a linen shirt during the day then we always recommend a pair of chinos shorts and make sure they are a contrast colour. A white or navy men’s linen shirt always looks great with a beige pair of tailored chino shorts. If you are going for striped or pink linen shirt then I would go for either navy or our light blue shorts as long as you have the confidence to pull it off. Also it always looks cool to either roll the sleeve up or turn the cuffs so you can display the inside contrasting print.
