We started making ladies and men’s tailored tops over a decade ago and today offer a comprehensive collection that covers all styles and fabrics along with a block that has proven a success across the globe.

When buying a shirt or blouse there are four key areas to consider; fabric, fit, manufacturing and of course style, and luckily for you, we have established a reputation for excellence in all four categories thanks to the vision and determination of our founder; Paul Brown.

World Class Fabrics

A great ladies shirt or blouse starts with the materials and the cloth. We source our long staple cotton and linen fabric from coveted shirting mill Soktas in Turkey. Soktas was established in 1971 and is the silent giant behind many of the world’s best known high end luxury fashion brands. For example, for our white Oxford blouse, we use a luxury Oxford fabric with just a hint of elastane woven into the cloth. This stretch fabric offers a level of comfort and manoeuvrability that 100% cotton cloths cannot compete with while having none of the drawbacks. The quality of the stretch cloth weaved by Soktas ensures the finished cloth is indistinguishable from the 100% cotton version.

In addition to superior cloth we also use buttons sourced from Italian button maker Maribert and sewn in interfacing from DHJ in France. Many cheaper brands will use a fusible interfacing for the collar and cuffs, however over time the glue that fuses the interfacing to the cloth degrades and becomes unstuck leading to a bubble effect. To ensure our women's tops and men’s shirts will last the test of time, we have always opted for a sewn in interfacing.

Best of British Manufacturing

We have been manufacturing ladies and men’s shirts for over a decade and continue to use traditional British tailoring techniques to ensure our tops will always look fabulous wash after wash. Important features include single needle stitching throughout which leads to a level of finish that is second to none. In addition we have a split yoke for the back for comfort around the shoulders and two rear darts in the blouses for a flattering fit. Our ladies tops are offered in sizes from 6 up to 20.

Is all of your clothing made here in the UK ?

Yes we do not source any of the items in our clothing collections, we make them all ourselves in the UK

Do you charge for delivery or shipping on your white blouses and shirts?

Delivery is free in the United Kingdom and is subsidised for other countries, so for UK delivery add nothing

Do you offer quick next day delivery ?

Our clothes are made to order so we cannot offer quick delivery. Our business is all about craftsmanship and quality. These govern our output and not speed. It means that you will wait a little longer for your garment but we are sure once you put it on you will feel it was worth the wait. This also means we are rarely able to offer a sale or discount.

Do you make all types of clothing or just white blouses ?

Would you call your clothing collections sustainable ?

Sustainability means different things to different people. Here at WISC we make to order, often with bespoke sizing to ensure fit. We use quality fabrics from reputable suppliers and experienced staff to produce a great classical style that is never out of fashion. Returns are much reduced in this way and we never build up any stock that could go unsold. Our staff all work for us in the UK and are properly remunerated. We are proud of our garments and they will stand the test of time, being worn again and again. It may not be the perfect solution but we always strive to go further, so you can shop for luxury clothing with a clearer conscience.

Do you offer frequent sales ?

Whilst we may offer a discount on occasions we rarely offer any significant sales as our made to order policy means we do not end up with unwanted stock. Most of the products on our site are at their original price.You can get any offers we do make if you sign up for our emails.

How do your clothes compare to brands like John Lewis ?

Firstly all our clothes are manufactured here in the UK to order from top quality fabrics. This is something you rarely find in big stores like John Lewis. Secondly our white blouses are all made to order which avoids waste.

Would you say the price of your clothes is expensive ?

In order to judge the price of a garment you need to know how well it is made and how often you end up wearing it. Whilst an initial glance might suggest they are expensive, proper consideration will show that this is far from the case. Our garments are timeless pieces built to last from quality fabrics. In the long term they work out great value for money, and our bespoke sizing on our trousers ensures a great fit that you will want to wear again and again. Price is what you pay, value is what you get.
