Our green cords or green corduroy pants for our US customers are made from beautiful corduroy cloth sourced from British Mill Brisbane Moss. The history of Brisbane moss dates back to the middle of the 19th century where the Moss Brothers were weavers of both corduroy and moleskin fabric. Today they offer a selection of luxury trouser, jacket and shirting clothes.
We use corduroy cloth from their Yew collection which is mostly cotton with just a small amount of elastane which doesn’t reduce the lust or finish of the fabric but does make it extremely comfortable to wear. While we offer four in stock colours, we can add any of the colours below for a small surcharge including popular black and purple colour options.
No expense is spared in using quality materials to manufacture the cord trousers which includes the finest shirting fabric for both the interior pocket linings and waistband along with real buffalo horn buttons and a YKK zip.
The trousers are designed with traditional British tailoring throughout including front slanted pockets along with rear pockets welts that have pocket flaps. The pockets flaps are an integral part of the construction of the trousers and can be fasten on the outside or pushed inside the pocket offering the wearer two distinct style options. However its main objective is that it will prevent the pocket from sagging and losing its shape over time which spoils the aesthetics of the trousers. The pocket flap should always be fastened during washing.

We are proud that all our clothing online is hand cut and made at our Suffolk factory in England by experienced tailors and seamstresses. The trousers are marked out by tailors chalk and cut out by hand with fabric shears. The trousers are sewn together using traditional production processes that result in the trousers taking longer to make, but an end product that is first class and will last the test of time. We view our mens cords as a long term investment for your wardrobe, but also at the same time supporting and protecting these trade skills so that they are preserved and passed down onto the next generation of trouser makers.
Made to Measure Trousers
Back in 2017 we opened our flagship in Bury St Edmunds store and offered men the opportunity to buy made to measure trousers available in a selection of wonderful cloths including popular twill, moleskin and of course corduroy. It proved very popular as all men come in different shapes and sizes and most importantly have different preferences when it come to buying trousers. Some are looking for a slim fit that certainly follows current fashion trends, while others were just looking for a comfortable pair of trousers. Our in house made to measure service could accommodate all needs.
The problem of course was that we had loyal customers all around the world who were not able to visit the store in person and take advantage of this service. As a result we decided to bridge this gap by launching create your own trousers online in 2018.
The key making it work online was to offer men a fantastic selection of waist and inside leg options to choose from including odd sizes and starting from a 28” waist and going all the way up to 46”. Further we offered three leg builds; slim fit, medium fit and classic leg. As long as customers provide accurate measurements they can get the equivalent of a made to measure pair of trousers delivered to their door without having to leave the comfort of their home.
Providing accurate measurements
One of the major issues in the current trouser market is many brands participating in vanity sizing where the size label inside the trousers does not match the actual measured waist. You will find with many brands that the waistband is between one to two inches bigger than the stated size.
This is a real problem for us as our trousers are being made to precise measurements. As a result we strongly recommend you measure your own waist or a pair of chinos you own.
Styling Green corduroy trousers
Green cord trousers are more versatile than many men think. Of course they are popular for country pursuits worn with tweed, but can be dressed in an urban environment when paired with a grey polo shirt and grey loafers. They also go well when coupled with a white button down shirt.

Are corduroy trousers fashionable?
Cords have never gone out of fashion and a pair should always be included in a men’s wardrobe. It is important they are styled correctly and if you are buying green or brown thinking carefully about the other colours you are going to wear in terms of tops, shoes and jackets.
Are cords warm?
Like moleskin trousers , corduroy pants are very warm and certainly a good choice on a cold day.
Which build is best for me?
We offer three builds; slim, medium and classic leg. Our slim leg is self explanatory and best for men looking for the tightest fit. Our classic leg is a straight cut and best for those men with big calves or seeking a looser more comfortable fit. Our medium leg is between these two options and is the most popular choice among our customers. The medium leg is a tapered leg offering a nice shape without being as tight as the slim leg option.
Do you offer stretch corduroy pants?
Our corduroy trousers are made with a cotton fabric that includes a small amount of elastane so by definition are stretch corduroy trousers. The elastane makes them very comfortable to wear without any loss in the lust or quality of the trouser cloth.
