Corduroy has a velvety feel making it durable yet soft to touch. It has been used mainly for men’s working and sporting clothing throughout the centuries. Modern uses include Corduroy Trousers, shirts, skirts, suits, caps, dresses, jackets, toys and soft furnishing.Cloth of the Kings
Corduroy is a truly vintage textile of cotton or cotton-mix fabric with a raised, ribbed, sheared surface nap and underlying weave. The word corduroy was coined in England around the late 18th Century as an early form of branding using the French translation of ‘cloth of the King’ (corde du roi). It is made from woven, twisted fibres which lie in parallel rows or ‘cords’ to form the cloth’s texture. The cords usually have a channel between them.

Like our twill chinos and moleskin trousers, we use world renowned British Mill Brisbane Moss to supply us with corduroy cloth from their coveted YEW Collection. This stunning fabric weighs in at 295gsm with just a hint of elastane to offer maximum comfort wash after wash. While we currently offer the beige and navy options as part of our create your own corduroy trousers, at a small surcharge we can offer all 15 colours as shown below:

shirting cloth from world renewed mill Soktas for the interior pockets coupled with real buffalo
horn buttons and a metal YKK zip, every component is first class.
Our cords are handmade to order at our Suffolk factory by experienced seamstresses who have a passion for making the highest
quality clothing made in England. Following traditional British tailoring techniques with a blend of vintage and modern machinery
the final result is nothing short of exceptional.
The Perfect Fit Every time
Finding trousers and chinos that fit well is becoming increasingly difficult as the options online or on the high street is very limited to a small range of sizes. As a result we launched our Create Your Own Trousers enabling men to get a great fit in a range of different cloths and colours. We started with our popular British made chinos and have since expanded to moleskin & corduroy trousers. Offering 14 waist sizes starting from 28 and going up to 46 we cater for a wide range of sizes including odd waist sizes. In addition we offer inside legs from 28" to 36" along with three leg options: slim leg, medium (our most popular) and classic for those who have big calves.
Measure your waist
One of the biggest issues when buying trousers online is getting your waist size correct. We always recommend either measuring your waist with a tape measure or measuring a pair of your favourite chinos or trousers to ensure the waist matches the label inside. We make all our trousers and chinos to size and do not offer vanity sizing where the size label inside suggests a size often smaller than the actual waist of the trousers.
Styling Your Corduroy Chinos
A pair of corduroys are a very versatile option and are especially a great option for autumn and winter as they are very warm. They look great with one of our men's tailored shirts from our new London Shirt Collection or a polo shirt. The most important advice we always give is getting the right colour combinations.
