Note on fabrics and materials in our white shirts
We really care about comfort and fit on all our ladies shirts. As a result all our white, black and light blue shirts are made using a 97% cotton with 3% elastane shirting cloth.
Our shirting fabrics are sourced from the leading European mills that use long staple cotton to weave their fabrics. Long staple cotton creates a fabric with less exposed fibre ends and stronger threads, creating a fabric that is very soft, smooth to touch, and exceptionally durable. You will find the best bed linen in the world is made from long staple cotton.
The 3% elastane does not have any impact on the quality or finish of the cloth. In fact you will struggle to tell the difference between the 100% cotton and 97% cotton version. However the 3% elastane offers a level of extra stretch that makes the shirts incredibly comfortable to wear.
Other materials include buttons from coveted Italian button marker Maribert.
Manufacturing
We have now been making ladies and men’s shirts in the UK for over a decade. Over the years we have carefully perfected our sizes and selection of design options to cater for an ever wider customer base that now stretches all round the world.
We started our own factory in Suffolk, England in 2012 after becoming increasingly frustrated with the options abroad. A well made blouse requires a number of important critical steps to always ensure a first class finish and a shirt that will last you wash after wash. The only way to ensure that all these steps are followed was to do it ourselves.
High Quality Thread & Stitches
Excellent British shirt making starts with getting the basics right; robust stitching and strong threads. All our threads are sourced from only Coats and Gutermann who are both internationally recognised as the leading thread companies in the world. These polyester spun threads are incredibly strong. Secondly we use only single needle small stitching throughout with many seams double stitched to ensure the shirt will never let you down. These double stitches and in the case of the side seams - triple stitched, are not necessarily obvious to the customer, but we can assure you they make a massive difference to the final shirt.
Unlike many other online clothing brands, we actually don’t carry very much stock. Over 95% of all our online orders are made to order ensuring there is no waste at the end of the season and helps with the drive towards sustainability.

Fit and sizing for your blouse
Our women's shirts and blouses are fitted. If you are looking for a more generous cut then consider going up an extra size. Sizes available go from 6 up to 20.
Washing instructions for your shirt
We recommend a 30 degree wash and iron the inside of the cloth on a medium heat. Do not tumble dry and for best results hang them straight from the washing machine.
