Check Boxer Shorts | Boxer Shorts by Paul Brown

Check Cotton Fabric

Our Tallington Boxer shorts are traditionally styled boxers with a navy check on white. Like Every pair of our British men’s boxer shorts they are made from 100% cotton supplied by coveted mills Monti and Soktas. Some say the idea of the pattern check is believed to have originated from biblical representations of the ground level floor of King Solomon's Temple, whilst others claim that according to 17th Century trade records, the use of the check pattern in ornamentation was widespread across South India. Either way they have been around a long time. The fabric we use is a woven cotton with high thread count, and it creates unparalleled all day comfort along with style for those who choose to lounge or sleep in them. The Covid lockdown and home working made them an ideal choice. Such is the quality of the fabric that we use it in one of our favourite luxury shirts.

Checked Boxer Shorts Construction

Like all our British made clothing our check boxer shorts are hand cut and made in England by experienced tailors and seamstresses. Each pair includes a gusset in the back for extra comfort along with a fully enclosed elasticated waistband. They have a front fly with a single button fastening and contrast buttonhole. They are sewn together using high strength Gutterman thread. Although made for men they are sometimes borrowed by women. The traditional design, perfected by many decades of wear, accommodates movement compared to many structured modern brands due to its more loose fitting characteristics.

Your New Favourites

Made with a traditional pattern which includes a rear gusset for comfort and made from only the finest shirting cloths, our boxer shorts will quickly become your favorutie boxers to wear.

Tallington Navy Check Boxer Shorts Made in England

Our collection of men’s British boxer shorts made in England blend the finest US Pima & Egyptian cotton fabrics with contrast coloured buttonholes with first class British tailoring. The result is an underwear garment that is very comfortable, looks good and is built to last.

History of the Boxer Short

Since 1925 when Jacob Golomb, founder of Everlast, designed trunks with elastic bands inside to give fighters more freedom during bouts, boxer shorts have been with us. The military issued them to Soldiers in world war 2 and many soldiers retained them as choice after they returned. Since then men’s underwear has gone through many iterations including briefs and three dimensional structured products, all of which are on offer today. One style however has persisted throughout and is still favourites with many, the boxer shorts. From those early days their popularity was enhanced by an 80s Levis advert featuring English model Nick Kamen in a laundrette dressed only in white boxers washing his other clothes. Today most high end fashion houses still offer classic boxer shorts that have barely changed for many decades. It is these traditional cotton boxer shorts which have stood the test of time that we offer.

Boxer Shorts Made in England

Our checked boxer shorts are part of a wide range that we offer and many of our customers have several pairs. In addition to the traditional blue check and stripes we have introduced a small range which includes popular tana lawn liberty prints from Liberty London. All are made by hand to the same exacting standards in our Suffolk factory.

Organic Cotton Boxers

We have now also introduced a range of organic boxer shorts made from fabrics from the Soktas Argentia collection fabrics finished with corozo buttons from a British button maker. Courtney & Co. The demand for organic fabric and sustainability is growing. These products represent a garment which is not only better for the environment but made to the same quality as the rest of our range.

Washing Instructions

We recommend washing your boxer shorts at 30 degrees and ironing them on the inside on medium heat. Do not tumble dry.
