Stretch Denim
A good pair of denim jeans are a wardrobe staple. We believe that jeans not only need to look great but also wear well. With this in mind we have selected a quality cotton denim with 3% elastane. This offers an exceptional level of extra comfort and wear ability that 100% cotton alternatives simply cannot compete with. We are so impressed with the 3% elastane, it is also used for our men’s twill chinos and corduroy trousers.
The finest materials
When it comes to making our trousers and jeans, no expense is spared in sourcing the very best materials to accompany the stretch denim. This includes using 100% Egyptian cotton shirting twill cloth for the interior pocket linings. This twill cloth comes from Sotkas who are recognised as one of the leading shirting mills in Europe and is the same supplier we use to source many of our luxury ladies and men’s shirts and blouses. We also use the best orange thread from Gutermann in Germany. Gutermann are recognised worldwide for producing the very best threads that ensure your jeans will never come apart.
Last but not least we also use a YKK zip for the front fly with matching brass rivets.
Create Your Own Jeans
While there are a few brands that still manufacture jeans in Britain, none offer the same level of customisation as we do. We offer over 200 unique combinations per colour to guarantee the perfect fitting jeans every time.
Following a simple 4 stage process customers can get the perfect fitting jeans delivered to their door. UK customers also benefit from free delivery.
Step 1 : Choose colour – we offer classic indigo blue and grey
Step 2 : Select Waist – our waist sizes start from 28” and go up to 46” and include a number of hard to find odd sizes like 35” and 37”.
We strongly recommend you measure your own waist or measure a pair of jeans you currently own before buying. This is because many jean brands are actively involved in vanity sizing where the actual waist size is bigger than the size label. Don’t get caught out and double check this measurement.
Step 3: Select your inside leg – like our waist we offer a number of length increasing by one inch at a time. Starting from 28” and going up to 36”.
Step 4 : Choose your build. We have three unique builds; slim, medium and classic. Slim is our tightest fit, while classic is our most relaxed cut. Medium is a tapered leg that sits between the two and remains our best selling leg.
Jeans made in England
The reason we can offer customers such a fantastic range of different waist, inside leg and build options is because every pair of jeans ordered on our website is hand cut and made to order. We do not carry any stock. The jeans are made using traditional British tailoring techniques. The fabric is marked by chalk and then cut out by hand. Each pair is then carefully sewn together from start to finish by just one tailor or seamstress using a mixture of old and new machinery.
Styling our UK made jeans
We are really pleased with the versatility of our jeans and how they can be dressed up with our other British made clothing to create stylish outfits. This includes our men’s tailored shirts and waistcoats.
Shirts and Jeans
Our blue and check shirts go really well with our indigo and grey jeans. The grey with check is a more formal option of the two.
Waistcoat and Jeans
We have also styled our blue jeans with a striped shirt and tweed waistcoat. For those seeking to add an extra layer of formality to your outfit, a tweed waistcoat is always a good shout.
Caring for your British jeans
We recommend washing on 30 degrees and for best results hand your jeans straight from the washing machine. Do not tumble dry and for iron on the inside of the denim on medium heat.
Other trousers including Corduroy and Moleskin
In addition to our jeans, we also manufacture men’s corduroy and moleskin trousers along with twill chinos. Like the jeans we offer the same level of customisation for all our trousers. You get to choose from the same fantastic selection of waist, inside leg and build options.
Conclusion
If you are looking for perfect fitting British made jeans then look no further. Our stylish blue and grey jeans are the perfect addition to your British made wardrobe. Complete your outfit by investing in our tailored shirts and coats and jackets.
Price and Value
Our classic garments are always made in the UK from fine fabrics and are built to love and to last. They do not go out of shape or come apart after several washes so you can wear them again and again. Contrast this to much cheaper high street versions that end up stuck in your wardrobe after being worn just once, never to see the light of day as they were ill fitting or didn't survive the laundry. You pay what you think is an expensive price up front but value is only apparent with the passage of time. The adage of ‘don't buy cheap, buy smart ‘fits here and you will do your bit for the environment as well.
Sustainability and Size
I cannot leave this blog without mentioning sustainability. It means many different things to many different people. It is well known that the fast fashion industry does enormous harm to the environment, particularly oil based fabrics and single use garments. You should consider this fact every time you shop for clothing. Here at WISC our British made clothes are classic garments that are built to last from natural fabrics to help minimise our impact. They are designed to be worn again and again without losing their shape or appearance. Multiple use also means that they become value for money. We also make most of our products to order so that unwanted stock is never a feature. Size is also a factor in sustainability. If clothes fit well they will be used a lot and the issue of returns for ill fitting garments becomes redundant. We stress this on our site and in addition to an extensive detailed size guide, we offer a special ‘design your own trouser’ section for this very reason. If you generally purchase off the peg chinos for example and try to make them fit, why not visit our website with your measurements and we will make you a pair. Going forward we continue to look at ways of improving our sustainability credentials further. You should also always consider recycling or donating any clothes you really don't want or need.
We Make a Wide range of Clothes
Here at WISC we make a selection of products for both men and women including trench coats and boxer shorts. All are made from the best material and manufactured to the same exacting standards. Our collections are on sale to view and buy online so why not shop our site and put something in your basket. You will be supporting British manufacture and of course they make great gifts tooFrequently asked Questions
