Weaves

A quality blouse or shirt starts with the cloth and as already highlighted we source our cloths from only the finest European mills using long staple cotton, sometimes with elastane and the best linen.

The next stage is selecting the appropriate weave and one of our favourites is the oxford weave. The Oxford is a basket weave where multiple weft threads are crossed over an equal number of warp threads. Often, one color of weft is crossed with a white warp thread resulting in a two-tone color appearance. We use this weave for both our plain white and blue blouses. In addition to the Oxford weave we also use twill which creates a very strong but also soft fabric. An example is our black blouses which is cotton with a hint of elastane.

Made in England with a tailored fit

All our blouses and clothing are hand cut and made at our Suffolk factory in England. We use traditional British tailoring and single needle stitching throughout to ensure a beautiful finish and most importantly longevity to our shirts. Buying a shirt from us should be seen as an investment that will offer a great return. We are proud to sell our shirts around the world to a loyal and discerning customer base.

Traditional features include a split yoke for comfort around the shoulders coupled with two darts in the back to pull in the waist. All our ladies shirts and blouses are created from the same block which we have perfected over the last decade of manufacturing. It offers women a fitted shirt and blouse with a nice silhouette. For those who prefer a more relaxed fit we recommend going up a size than what you would normally buy.
