Best Double-Breasted Trench Coat
If you are looking for the best trench coat in its class then you have come to the right page. In our latest blog we will explain why our men’s flagship
trench coats are the best in their class and quite possibly the best in the world.
While the last sentence may seem a bold statement, let us explain why we are so confident in our men’s coats.
The best materials
If you want to claim the best trench coat for men then you need to start with the best materials. We don’t use any polyester cloths which often can be waterproof, but with the massive drawback of zero breathability.
When we designed our first men’s trench coat we turned to a reliable supplier for the outer shell. It was important to us that this cloth followed tradition and was made from a 100% cotton twill but also had a waterproof finish to ensure it could fully cope with the ever changing and demanding British weather. As a result we turned to the experts in this field; British Millerain who have been manufacturing water resistant fabrics for more than a century. We selected a dry finished 8 oz cotton twill that offered excellent water repellency . This stunning cloth looked opulent and luxurious and draped beautifully. It was the perfect match and a great starting point in our quest to design and build the best trench coats in its class.
With the outer shell confirmed we focused our attention on the lining, buttons and buckles. No expense was spared in sourcing the finest materials which extended to real leather buckles and brown polished buffalo horn buttons. The traditional check lining which is also used for the under collar of each coat is sourced from one of the finest European shirting mills coupled with silky viscose sleeves from the lining company.

A traditional design steeped in history.
Knowing we had used only the best materials available it was now the job of our designer and founder, Paul Brown to create a trench coat that was modern with regards to styling and wear ability while also harnessing the glorious history that has made it such an iconic coat for the last century.
It was obvious from the outset that the coat would have to be double breasted. Further key features from its industrious past include sleeve straps, a gun flap, removable epaulettes, a rear wind breaker and D rings on the belt that were originally used to tie grenades and maps.
These features combined with the first class materials has created a stunning modern trench coat.
Best of British Tailoring and manufacturing
All our men’s and ladies double breasted trench coats are hand cut and made to order at our Suffolk factory in England. We combine traditional British tailoring with modern production methods to create timeless coats that are build to last. Like many of our luxury clothing items, we include a number of steps during the production process that are not obvious in the finished product but make a huge difference in the finish and most importantly the longevity of the coats. Our trench coats should be viewed as an investment.
Fit
While quality materials and styling are important, fit remains the key to a great coat. Our men’s trench coats are fitted but offer enough room to layer up. They are a mid length coat finishing just above the knees for an average height man. If you are looking for a more generous cut then we recommend going up one size. Our mens trench coats are available from size medium up to XXL.
Classic Trench Coat Colours
We offer our me’s trench coats in ten popular colours including beige, navy, black and green trench coats. For those looking for a formal addition to their wardrobe we suggest our black trench coat, but that said our coat is very versatile and can be dressed up or down .
